Telekom Malaysia, Dont treat me like an Idiot 1

I got to rant this. But money is not the main issue here.

In December 2008 when I am preparing to go to Singapore, I decided to terminate my Streamyx Account & fixed line with Telekom Malaysia (TM) since I figured that it’s very unlikely that I’ll ever need to use it anymore.

During the termination process, I am suggested to maintain a basic Streamyx account for a fee of RM20 per month. Under the impression that I will still be able to use Streamyx without a fixed phone line, so why not? (^_^)

In fact, I told the officer that they should have told us earlier about it. It’s a small amount to pay to continue to have a connection whenever I’m back in KL. I accepted the offer & proceeded to terminate only the fixed line. I was fucking damn wrong!

I’ve gone to Singapore the following week immediately after the termination & did not use Streamyx untill I return in May 2009. I later happily paid the long outstanding Streamyx charges just to find out that there is NO Streamyx access. BIG Mistake ! Fuck! A call to TM call centre for assistance confirms that I would not be able to access Streamyx without a fixed line! (0_0)

Whatever happend literally annoy’s me cause I’m expecting the Streamyx to be available whenever I’m back for the weekend. Damn ! Not only that I can’t access it, I’m still being billed for it for the month of May 2009 ! Ok fine, since TM is not giving me ANY Internet service, all I have to do is to make sure that the account is closed rite? Great. But what about the money that I’ve paid? (>o<)

The Office at TM Point has been patient enough to handle my complain & forward it to their head office while helping me to fill up some forms, print my IC and terminate the account. I’m already very upset cause I have been telling the same story 3 times. Twice over 1 hour on my phone to the Customer Service Officer the day I discover the NO service & another time at TM Point. But I’m very surprised with the 3 days turn around time at their Customer support. Here’s the email that they sent to me :

Please be informed that, upon checking through our system we found that your fixed line 0036XXXXXX has been terminated on 15th January 2009. However, the Streamyx account still active until to date.

Kindly note, you will be charge for the Streamyx subscription fee RM20.00 although the fixed line has been terminated. Please be informed that, as the Streamyx account still in active status thus the Streamyx subscription fee RM20.00 will be charge in you bill as usual.

However, if you wish to do the termination for the Streamyx account we would be delight if you may do the termination process at TMpoint outlets. Kindly note as according to procedure, any termination of Streamyx account must be submitted or applied at TMpoint as customer is required filling in termination of service form attached with photocopy of account holder’s IC for security measure.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued patience and understanding, as well as extend our appreciation for your continued support of TM. We wish to assure you that we are constantly improving our service and listening to customer feedback to further improve on the level of our service and customer satisfaction.

What they send to me literally pissed me off. The email tells me that it does not matter to TM if I can ACCESS the Streamyx Service or not. So long as I have an Account with them, I have to pay. Pay for what ?! (>o<)

It’s only after I made complaints that I found out NO FIXED LINE = NO STREAMYX. This is even confirmed by the all the TM Officers that I complained to. They even elaborated that it will not be possible for them to provide me with Streamyx connection without at fixed line connection. In short, for almost 6 months, I have been paying TM to keep a Steam-my-ass account which I cannot use at all. (@_@)

What’s even worse is that from the email, it’s implied that TM knows that I cannot access Steam-my-ass without a fixed line.

Just for argument purpose, it would be a very different story if I were have access to Steam-my-Ass & they bar my access because I didn’t pay the bills for almost 6 months & charge me an activation fees for it. I would just pay all the fees, be a good boy & keep quiet about it. (T_T)

TM, I’m not very happy with whatever that’s happening and you’ll be fucking sure that I’m going to write you a very long complain letter about you delivery of service & I want my money back!
